Fall Alumni Dinner in NYC

Co-Hosted by DGALA, FFR/Princeton BTGALA, Harvard GLC, Yale GALA and the NYU LGBTQ Alumni Network

COST:  $30 in advance here, $35 cash at the door and includes appetizers, dinner and coffee with a light dessert.

We’re heading back to People for a special fall dinner! Our dinners have had a great turn out of folks of all ages. People serves wonderful pan-asian food. We’ll start with an hour of passed appetizers and mingling over cocktails (cash bar), and then we’ll have a buffet dinner with delicious food for all. We’ll be downstairs as we’re taking over the whole restaurant for this great event!

Same Sex Love In and Out of India

Join Professor Ruth Vanita, author of Queering India: Same-Sex Love and Eroticism in India, openly gay Indian-American comedian Vidur Kapur (highlight act from DGALA’s last all-class reunion), and filmmaker Ishita Srivastava, director of Desigirls!, for a discussion of gender, sexuality, national identity and their intersections. This is the last of three programs in the Rubin Museum’s Out in the Himalayas series, a look at the issues faced by gay, lesbian and transgender people in the South Asian region and diaspora. After the discussion, we’ll head to a local bar for drinks and further discussion.

DGALA is currently seeking nominations and applications for new members to join our Board of Directors! This is an exciting opportunity to stay connected to life at Dartmouth and to be deeply involved in all of DGALA’s activities, including:

–> Planning and vision-setting for the organization
–> Providing leadership for and participation in Board committees
–> Working with the administration at Dartmouth on policies that affect LGBTQ alumnae/i and students
–> Social and professional events around the country and in Hanover
–> Collaborating with other Dartmouth Affiliated Groups and other Ivy peer LGBTQA alumni/ae organizations
–> Mentorship for young alums and current students
–> Sponsorship of important on-campus events such as annual PRIDE programming, all-class and mini-reunions
