More About Rosi Kerr ’97: Director of Sustainability at Dartmouth
Rosi Kerr is the Director of Sustainability at Dartmouth. Rosi is a Dartmouth ’97 and has a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science from Yale. Rosi unwittingly entered the energy sector at Yale when she and classmates developed a business plan to turn waste from salmon processing plants in Alaska into biofuel. That led Rosi to a series of energy start-ups, first in the commercial energy sector working for a new electricity supplier, and then in the demand side energy management market. As Sustainability Director at a sustainability and energy consulting firm called GreenerU, Rosi became convinced that universities can become innovation engines to make the world better, more efficient and more sustainable. She came to Dartmouth because she believes the College is uniquely positioned to help solve some of the most interesting challenges society faces, especially those related to energy and sustainability. Rosi has led expeditions in the Arctic, led horse-packing trips in the American west and has served on the board of Climate Ride, Vineyard Power and the Upper Valley Rowing Foundation. She lives on a farm South Strafford, Vermont with her partner and three kids.
